DRAM-A-DANCE

Using theatrical elements to create movement

The purpose of this workshop is to develop and generate choreographic structures that blur the line between theater and dance. Utilizing movement and theater improvisation, theatrical text from Samuel Becket and Donald Margulies, and journaling, studnets will develop dance through vignettes. This class is for intermediate to advanced dancers. No theatrical experience required.

Beginning Contemporary Dance

technique for dancers

This course will introduce students to the fundamentals of contemporary dance technique. The focus of this class is to teach students movement phrases that will assist them in learning about strength, flexibility, and body awareness. Using a yoga and Pilates warm up, students will develop a deeper sense of the body and the way their bodies move.

Collaborative Choreography

The focus of this workshop is to create a dance in a collaborative environment. Blending the student improvisations and set choreography, the class will build upon movement weekly and develop a dance. The collaborative work will be performed at the end of the workshop.
